It’s a fair question.
Why pay a hens party planner when you could technically organise the whole thing yourself?
You can Google hens party ideas. You can find a venue, book an activity, organise accommodation, make restaurant reservations and work out how everyone is getting from one place to the next.
So yes — you absolutely can plan a hens party yourself.
But after organising hundreds of parties, I can tell you that making a few bookings is the easy part.
Putting together a hens party that actually works — where the timing makes sense, the venues are right for your group, everyone knows where they need to be, suppliers are confirmed, deposits are paid, there aren’t awkward gaps in the day and someone knows what to do when plans inevitably change — is a completely different story.
A Hens Party Planner Isn’t Just Someone Who Makes Bookings
When you book a hens party through us, I’m not sitting at a computer Googling “hens party activities near me” and choosing whichever business appears first.
I’ve built personal relationships with the venues, activity providers, accommodation, transport operators and suppliers that I recommend.
I know the people behind the businesses. I know the locations. I know the staff. I know the logistics. And most importantly, I know which experiences actually work for hens groups.
That local knowledge makes a huge difference.
A venue can look fantastic online but be completely wrong for your particular group. An activity might have amazing photos but be awkward to fit into the rest of your day. A location that looks close on a map might create a logistical nightmare when you have a group of hens trying to get there together on a busy Saturday afternoon.
You don’t necessarily know any of that when you’re organising your first hens party.
I do, because I’ve done this hundreds of times.
You’re Paying for Experience, Not Just a Booking
There’s a big difference between knowing what’s available and knowing what actually works.
After organising hundreds of parties, I have a pretty good idea of how a successful hens day or hens weekend flows.
I know how much time you realistically need between activities.
I know when a schedule is becoming too ambitious.
I know which hens party activities work well together — and which ones don’t.
I know when you need transport rather than assuming everyone can just grab an Uber.
I know which venues are genuinely suited to hens groups.
I know the questions that need to be asked before you arrive.
And I know that something that sounds great on paper doesn’t always translate into a great experience for a group of 15 people.
That’s the part of using an experienced hens party planner that’s difficult to put a price on.
You’re not just paying someone to make a reservation.
You’re benefiting from everything I’ve learnt from the hundreds of parties that came before yours.
Real Local Knowledge Makes a Difference
Let’s say you want to add an activity to your hens weekend.
You could search online, look through a few websites, read some reviews and pick one.
But is it in the right location for what you’re doing afterwards?
Is the venue actually good?
What are the staff like?
Are they experienced with hens groups?
How long does the activity really take once you factor in arrival, briefing and getting everyone organised?
What’s nearby afterwards?
Can your transport easily get in and out?
Is there somewhere for the group to go if you finish earlier than expected?
These are the little details that can make or break the flow of the day.
I don’t recommend something simply because I’ve found it online. The businesses and experiences I offer are there because I have real relationships and genuine local knowledge behind them.
It’s the difference between picking the first option you see on Google and speaking to someone who actually knows the local party industry.
That includes our sister business, Party Boat, which gives us another fantastic option for hens groups wanting to celebrate on the water.
Rather than sending you off to organise another part of the day yourself, we can consider how a boat party fits into your entire hens itinerary — the timing, location, transport and what you’re doing before and afterwards.
The goal isn’t to cram as many activities as possible into your hens party.
It’s to put together the right combination of experiences so the whole celebration works.
A Great Hens Party Is All About Timing
One of the biggest mistakes people make when planning a hens party is trying to fit too much into one day.
Bottomless brunch at 11.
Activity at 1.
Another activity at 3.
Back to the accommodation to get changed.
Dinner at 6.
Drinks at 8.
It looks perfectly reasonable when it’s written in a group chat.
Then reality arrives.
Someone is late. Someone takes longer getting ready. Lunch runs over. The group needs another 20 minutes to get everyone out the door. Transport takes longer than expected. Someone leaves their phone behind. The next venue needs you there 15 minutes before your booking.
Suddenly, the entire day is running behind.
Experience teaches you to account for the things that don’t appear on a booking confirmation.
Good hens party planning isn’t about filling every minute. It’s about getting the timing right so everyone can actually enjoy themselves.
That’s something I’ve learnt from doing this over and over again.
And Yes, Things Can Go Wrong
They just do.
You can plan an event perfectly and something outside your control can still change.
Weather happens.
Suppliers have issues.
Guest numbers change.
Someone cancels.
Transport gets delayed.
A venue changes something.
Someone suddenly remembers a dietary requirement nobody mentioned.
Stuff happens.
The important thing is what happens next.
After organising hundreds of events, I’ve dealt with plenty of unexpected situations.
I know who to contact. I know what questions to ask. I know what alternatives might work. And because I have relationships with the businesses I work with, I’m not necessarily starting from scratch when something needs to be fixed.
Often, I’m working on a potential problem before the group even knows there was one.
That’s a big part of what you’re getting when you use an experienced hens party planner.
Instead of the organiser frantically calling suppliers while everyone else is having a cocktail, you have someone who knows the suppliers, understands the logistics and knows where to start fixing the situation.
The Hens Party Organiser Already Has Enough to Do
If you’ve been given the job of organising the hens party, congratulations.
You’ve also potentially been given another job you didn’t realise you were accepting:
Group administrator.
You’ll be creating the group chat.
Finding out who’s coming.
Answering everyone’s questions.
Explaining the plan.
Chasing people who haven’t responded.
Working around different budgets.
Collecting everyone’s money.
Reminding people to pay.
Sending addresses.
Sending times.
Answering questions you’ve already answered three times.
And then probably answering them again on the morning of the hens.
That’s already enough.
You don’t also need to be emailing multiple suppliers, checking availability, negotiating times, paying deposits, remembering payment deadlines, confirming numbers, asking questions, changing bookings and trying to make all the logistics fit together.
Let me do that part.
You can be the point person for your hens group.
I’ll be the point person behind the scenes.
I’ll go back and forth with the suppliers.
I’ll work through the timing.
I’ll deal with deposits and deadlines.
I’ll answer your questions.
I’ll think about the logistics.
I’ll spot potential issues.
I’ll ask the questions you may not even know need asking.
And if something needs fixing, I’ll work on fixing it.
Instead of you coordinating multiple different businesses, you’re dealing with me.
That alone can make planning a hens party considerably less stressful.
Using a Hens Party Planner Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Paying More
Here’s something a lot of people don’t realise when they first look at using a hens party planner.
For many of the activities and experiences I offer, you’re not paying a big planning fee on top of what you’d normally pay to book them yourself.
I generally work on a commission basis with my suppliers.
Because of the relationships I’ve built with these businesses and the volume of groups I work with, many provide me with an exclusive industry rate.
You pay the normal retail price for the activity, and my margin comes from the difference between that price and the rate the supplier provides to me.
So for those bookings, you can almost think of the party planning as free.
You’re paying what you could have paid to book the experience yourself, except instead of spending your own time researching, emailing, coordinating and organising everything, you get me and my experience along with it.
And time is the part I think we seriously underestimate.
The Biggest Thing I Can Give You Is Your Time Back
Women are busy.
We have jobs to do.
Kids to raise.
Businesses and careers to grow.
Homes to maintain.
Partners and families.
Friendships and social lives.
And somewhere amongst all of that, you’ve now been handed the job of organising an amazing hens party.
Your evenings don’t need to be spent sending emails to activity providers, comparing venues, waiting for replies, checking whether one booking can finish in time to get to another, following up on deposits and wondering whether you’ve forgotten something.
That’s what I’m here for.
I’ve already spent years finding the suppliers, building the relationships, learning the locations and working out what actually works.
You don’t need to spend five hours researching something that I may already know the answer to.
You don’t need to send emails backwards and forwards to three different suppliers to work out whether the timings fit.
You don’t need to become an expert in planning hens parties just because your best friend is getting married.
One of the biggest things you’re getting from me isn’t another item on the hens party bill.
It’s your time back.
Couldn’t I Save Money by Booking the Hens Party Myself?
Sometimes, yes.
There may be parts of a hens party you can find or organise more cheaply yourself, and I’m never going to pretend otherwise.
If your hens party is simple, you have plenty of time, you enjoy organising events and you’re happy to research and coordinate everything yourself, DIY hens party planning might be absolutely fine.
I’m not going to tell you that every hens party on earth needs an event planner.
But for many of the experiences I offer, booking yourself doesn’t necessarily mean you’re saving money.
You may simply be taking on all the work yourself.
And that’s the comparison I’d encourage you to make.
Don’t just ask:
“Can I book this myself?”
Of course you can.
Ask:
“What am I actually gaining by doing all of this myself?”
How many hours will you spend researching hens party ideas and activities?
How many suppliers will you need to contact?
How confident are you that the venues and activities you’ve chosen actually work well for hens groups?
Have you allowed enough time between everything?
Who is keeping track of deposits, final payments and deadlines?
Who is checking the logistics?
Who is going back and forth when the group size changes?
Who is making sure all the pieces of the day actually fit together?
And who deals with it if something goes wrong?
If you’re saving a substantial amount and you genuinely enjoy organising everything, doing it yourself might make perfect sense.
But if you’re paying roughly what you would have paid for the activities anyway, why wouldn’t you take the local knowledge, supplier relationships, experience, logistics and hours of your own time back too?
You Get to Be Part of the Hens Party Too
This might be the most important part.
Usually, the person organising the hens isn’t some random event coordinator.
You’re one of the bride’s closest friends or family members.
You’re supposed to be there celebrating with her.
You shouldn’t spend the entire lead-up stressed about bookings and payments, then spend the actual hens day checking the time, calling suppliers and wondering whether the transport is going to arrive.
My job is to take as much of that behind-the-scenes work away from you as possible.
You’ll still have things to organise within your group — particularly collecting money and making sure everyone actually reads the information you send them!
I can’t perform miracles.
But you shouldn’t also have to become a hens party industry expert overnight.
That’s my job.
So, Is Hiring a Hens Party Planner Worth It?
If all you’re organising is dinner for five people, you probably don’t need me.
But if you’re bringing together a bigger group, multiple hens party activities, accommodation, transport, venues or an entire hens weekend, having someone who knows the local industry can make an enormous difference.
You’re not using me because you’re incapable of making a booking.
You’re using me because I’ve done this hundreds of times.
I know the suppliers.
I know the venues.
I know the locations.
I know the staff.
I know the logistics.
I know what groups tend to love.
I know what timing works.
I know the questions you haven’t thought to ask yet.
I know the problems that can occur — and I can often see them coming before they become your problem.
And when something doesn’t go according to plan, I know where to start fixing it.
Most importantly, I take care of the tedious behind-the-scenes organising so you can concentrate on the part that actually matters:
getting your favourite people together and giving the bride an incredible hens party.
Because technically, you could organise it all yourself.
But when you have someone who already knows what works, can save you hours of your time and, for many of the experiences, doesn’t even mean you’re paying more than the normal retail price — why would you?
